Before you go
- Access to the next star-level recipe you want to make.
- The precursor specified by that recipe.
- The remaining ingredients listed for the recipe.
- Heat items or another available in-game heat source if the precursor is below the displayed requirement.
Farming steps
- Open the Mysterious Alchemy Machine and choose the exact next star-level recipe you plan to craft.
- Read its entry to identify the required precursor, minimum heat, and additional ingredients.
- Inspect the precursor’s current heat and compare it with the selected recipe’s requirement.
- If it falls short, gather and apply available heat items or use another in-game heat source until it meets the displayed minimum.
- Collect any other missing recipe ingredients through their available in-game sources.
- Return to the recipe and confirm the precursor and all listed ingredients are ready.
- Craft the upgrade, then check the new item’s heat level; the next star-level item begins at heat level 1.
- Recheck the selected recipe whenever you change upgrade paths; heat requirements are recipe-specific.
- Keep the recipe open as a checklist so you collect only the ingredients and heat needed for this craft.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat for each star-level upgrade you want: select its recipe, prepare the named precursor to the listed minimum, gather the remaining ingredients, and craft. Replenish heat items and ingredients as needed; their availability and Clockworks sources can vary.
Common mistakes
- Relying on a remembered heat value from a different recipe can leave the precursor short; use the current recipe’s displayed minimum.
- Gathering heat before selecting the target recipe can waste effort; choose the recipe first and raise heat only to its requirement.
- Expecting the crafted item to keep the precursor’s heat leads to incorrect planning; the next star-level item starts at heat level 1.
When to stop or switch
Stop applying heat once the selected recipe’s minimum is met. Craft when the other listed ingredients are ready; otherwise switch to collecting the specific missing materials.
