Find Beta Cores behind traversal gates

Beta Cores permanently expand Beta Energy, and several missed pickups are tucked behind recognizable traversal puzzles or gates.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

Eidos 7 alleys and rubble routes, Wasteland paths gated by Double Jump, and Matrix 11’s flooded Underground Sewer.

Use this route logic to recover Beta Cores that are easy to miss while moving through Eidos 7, Wasteland, and Matrix 11. These are fixed corpse pickups used to enhance maximum Beta Energy, not repeatable drops. Some Wasteland routes require Double Jump, while the Matrix 11 sewer pickup requires the Flood Control Station to change the water level. Check the regional entry for the specific corpse marker before setting out.

How to farm

Before you go

  • Unlock the relevant region and the traversal path named by its marker.
  • Unlock Double Jump before attempting the gated Wasteland handhold and wall-run routes.
  • For the sewer route, activate the Flood Control Station first.
  1. Select a Beta Core marker in the regional checklist and note its named landmark or traversal gate.
  2. In Eidos 7, follow the marked alley, rubble path, or handholds to the corpse rather than searching every nearby building.
  3. For a Double Jump route in Wasteland, approach the western handholds and branches only after the ability is unlocked.
  4. For the wall-run route, reach the yellow handholds and use the linked wall-run panels to cross to the corpse at the tunnel’s end.
  5. In Matrix 11, activate the Flood Control Station and return to the now-flooded Underground Sewer.
  6. Swim to the northeast corner, dive beneath the bars, and surface on the other side to reach the body.
  7. Collect the core, update your checklist, and spend cores at the appropriate enhancement interface when ready.

Farming tips

  • Treat a visible but unreachable marker as a gate check: confirm Double Jump or the relevant story mechanism before repeating the approach.
  • After a water-level change, revisit the sewer rather than assuming it was fully searched earlier.

Repeat, collect and use

Each Beta Core is a one-time collectible in a playthrough. New Game+ restores collectibles; no corpse can be farmed repeatedly in the same run.

Common mistakes

  • Attempting Double Jump routes before unlocking the ability: mark the site and return when traversal is available.
  • Searching the flooded sewer before using the station: complete the water-control objective first.
  • Confusing Beta Cores with Body Cores: collect the item shown at the corpse and use it for Beta Energy enhancement.

When to stop or switch

Stop at the selected marker once the corpse is looted; switch to an accessible region or return after unlocking the required traversal ability.
