Before you go
- Hydraulic Fluid and story progression to activate the bridge.
- Cold protection suitable for the trek.
- Snowfox or careful foot travel for surface movement.
- Depth-rated vehicle and Prawn Suit Drill Arm if collecting underwater large deposits.
Farming steps
- Reach Glacial Bay and complete the bridge activation using Hydraulic Fluid when the story route allows.
- Prepare cold protection and supplies before crossing; bring a Snowfox if available.
- Follow the established trail into the Arctic Spires and use visible landmarks to keep the return route clear.
- Search accessible cave walls and boulders for late-game resources, collecting only what you can carry safely.
- Check your cold protection and supplies during the trek and return to shelter when needed.
- For underwater resources, transition back to the vehicle and confirm its depth rating before descending.
- Use the Prawn drill on large deposits only when equipped, then return to base with the haul.
- Keep surface exploration and underwater mining as separate legs so each has the right equipment.
- Mark a reliable return point before pushing farther from the bridge.
Repeat, collect and use
Land resource searches can be revisited, though individual pickups are finite. Large deposits are depleted after drilling; seek another deposit for additional ore.
Common mistakes
- Crossing without cold protection: prepare for exposure before leaving shelter.
- Assuming land access makes deep underwater travel safe: use a correctly rated vehicle for the aquatic leg.
- Taking a Snowfox as a substitute for oxygen or vehicle planning: it supports surface travel only.
When to stop or switch
Return to shelter if cold exposure or supplies become limiting; postpone underwater collection until the depth-rated vehicle and drill are ready.
