Before you go
- No tool is needed to pick glowing clusters.
- Exterior Growbed or sufficiently tall Alien Containment for cultivation.
- Storage space for seed clusters and resulting ingredients.
- Knife only if you also need Creepvine Sample for fiber mesh.
Farming steps
- Find a Kelp Forest beside the shallows or Grassy Plateaus and identify a Creepvine with yellow glowing clusters.
- Approach the cluster and pick it directly rather than cutting the vine.
- Collect only the number of clusters needed for your current crafting and planting plans.
- Return to base and place a cluster in an Exterior Growbed or suitable tall Alien Containment.
- Allow the vine to grow, then harvest its new seed clusters as needed.
- Use clusters in the fabrication chains that require them, such as silicone rubber or lubricant.
- Replant a cluster if you want to preserve or expand the base supply.
- Stalkers frequent Kelp Forests; stay aware of their position while gathering and keep an escape path to open water.
- Creepvine needs vertical room in containment, so use a tall setup or the exterior bed.
Repeat, collect and use
Wild clusters are limited by the plants available in a visit; a planted seed-cluster vine provides a repeatable source once grown.
Common mistakes
- Using the knife on the vine when you need clusters: pick the glowing yellow seed cluster by hand.
- Planting a Creepvine Sample expecting clusters: plant a Seed Cluster for a vine that carries clusters.
- Using a short planter space: provide adequate vertical clearance or use an Exterior Growbed.
When to stop or switch
Leave the Kelp Forest once you have enough clusters to craft and establish your base crop; harvest the crop for later needs.
