Peepers and Bladderfish
Safe Shallows and adjacent reefs; look for Peepers in open schools and Bladderfish nearer the seafloor.
Before you go
- No tool needed for a direct fish pickup.
- Fabricator for cooked food or filtered water.
- Grav Trap optional for gathering fish near a fixed location.
- Storage or immediate processing for the catch.
Farming steps
- Swim into the Safe Shallows and identify a Peeper or Bladderfish within reach.
- Aim at the fish until the cursor changes to the hand pickup indicator.
- Use the primary pickup control while the hand indicator is visible to catch it.
- If the fish moves out of range, reposition and wait for a closer approach instead of clicking repeatedly.
- For a group collection, place a Grav Trap nearby and gather fish drawn into its field.
- Return to a Fabricator and cook Peepers for food or convert Bladderfish into filtered water.
- Use or store the processed output with spoilage in mind.
- The hand cursor confirms the fish is close enough; use it as your cue before attempting the pickup.
- Catch only what you can process and consume soon, especially when carrying raw fish.
Repeat, collect and use
Fish can be caught on repeat trips in the shallows; the local catch depends on the wildlife present, so move to nearby water if the immediate area is sparse.
Common mistakes
- Clicking while the fish is too far away: wait until the hand pickup indicator appears.
- Expecting Bladderfish to cook into water automatically: process them at the Fabricator.
- Overfilling inventory with raw catch: process what you need and account for spoilage.
When to stop or switch
Return to base once you have enough food and water for the next outing, or when the local fish are no longer easy to catch.
