Before you go
- Fishing rod.
- Access to the region containing the target fish.
- Inventory space and a target fish or collection goal.
Farming steps
- Pick the fish needed for a request, collection, or crafting goal.
- Check which region and water zone lists that species.
- Travel to the named location; in Nel’Vari distinguish forest, village, and farm pools.
- Cast at the matching water and continue fishing while keeping the target in mind.
- Check the catch against your goal and set aside museum or request specimens.
- If the fish does not belong to that pool, move to the listed zone rather than repeating at the wrong water.
- Sell or store surplus catches according to your current needs.
- A region name alone may not identify the correct pool; use the fish’s specific zone.
- Use bait only when it fits your intended fishing plan; location still determines the pool.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat at the fish’s matching location whenever you need more; catches are not guaranteed simply by visiting the correct zone.
Common mistakes
- Fishing in a different body of water within the same region may yield a different pool; check the exact zone.
- Selling the first target catch can force another trip; reserve collection or request fish immediately.
- Treating a catch as guaranteed ignores chance and skill; plan time to continue fishing if needed.
When to stop or switch
Stop when you have the required specimen or quantity, or switch zones if the target is not listed for the water you are using.
