Before you go
- Access to a listed Scrap Ore stratum and vein.
- Standard Pickaxe for manual collection, or a Mining Drill for automated extraction.
- Inventory or a dedicated container for Condensed Scrap Ore.
- A visible in-game item or machine recipe before setting up downstream processing.
Farming steps
- Select a Scrap Ore location in a stratum you have opened; the index lists several Strata 12 sites, including X74/Y181 and X89/Y242.
- Travel to the marked area and identify the Scrap Ore vein in the cave before carrying in a drill or other equipment.
- For a small supply, use the Standard Pickaxe to collect the listed hand-harvested output, Condensed Scrap Ore.
- For ongoing collection, place a Mining Drill on the confirmed vein and meet its displayed operating requirements.
- Carry the output back or route it to a labeled container so it does not mix with iron, copper, or Atlantum stock.
- Inspect the Scrap Ore and Condensed Scrap Ore entries in your in-game item and recipe panels to see which machines accept the material and what product they make.
- Only after confirming a consumer, route the raw output to that machine and store its resulting product for the recipe or task that requests it.
- The index lists Scrap Ore sites across several strata, so choose a reachable vein and verify it in the cave before building a remote line.
- Keep the raw material buffered separately until an in-game recipe identifies its processing step and use.
Repeat, collect and use
Collect from an available listed vein as needed. Resource veins are finite; when a site is exhausted, move to another Scrap Ore location in an opened stratum.
Common mistakes
- Treating Condensed Scrap Ore as an already verified processed recipe product: confirm its role in the in-game item and machine panels.
- Assuming Scrap Ore follows iron’s processing chain: route it only to a machine that explicitly accepts it.
- Expecting a depleted vein to refill: the resource index describes finite deposits, so develop another listed site.
When to stop or switch
Stop when your raw stock covers the visible recipe or task demand, or when the vein is depleted; resume at another listed location if the confirmed consumer uses more.
