Before you go
- Rift travel and outpost access.
- Local power structure and grid connection.
- Defensive buildings suitable for the outpost threat.
- A mine and transport connection for the chosen resource.
Farming steps
- Land near the confirmed deposit and pick a compact build area.
- Place local power where it can serve the mine and nearby defenses.
- Build the matching mine and connect it to power and storage.
- Add defenses around the mine, power structure, and approach to the production core.
- Check that the mine and defenses are operating before broadening the perimeter.
- Activate the rift transport connection when local production is stable.
- Inspect the main base stockpile to confirm the resource arrives.
- Maintain the site or return if its production or defenses fail.
- Keep the core compact so defenses cover the buildings that sustain extraction.
- Establish reliable local power before counting on a remote resource stream.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat this setup for each remote source. The outpost is reusable, but each mineral patch is finite and may eventually require a new location.
Common mistakes
- Connecting transport before local production works: verify the mine and power first.
- Building defenses away from the machinery: protect the actual production core.
- Ignoring the receiving stockpile: confirm delivery before expanding the operation.
When to stop or switch
Stop expanding once the outpost supplies the needed resource; relocate or close it when its deposit is exhausted or the site cannot be maintained.
