- Reach Frosted Hills and find a Phase Beast.
- Receive the crystal-defense challenge from its portal draw.
- Bring a build that can handle the challenge enemies and protect objectives.
Farming steps
- Defeat the Phase Beast and enter the challenge portal.
- Identify the crystals and the enemy approach before engaging.
- Stay near the objectives and attack threats that endanger the crystals.
- Use area damage carefully so you can control enemies without abandoning vulnerable objectives.
- Finish the defense and check which crystals survived.
- Collect the blue chests earned for protected crystals and inspect their contents.
- Defend the crystals first; the reward is tied to the crystals protected.
- If the Phase Beast opens another challenge, complete or leave it and wait for another beast rather than expecting to choose this one.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat only when the randomized Phase Beast draw produces this challenge again. The challenge is not guaranteed on each visit.
Common mistakes
- Chasing enemies away from the objectives and allowing crystals to fall; keep threats near the crystals prioritized.
- Leaving before claiming earned blue chests; inspect the challenge area after the defense.
- Assuming every Frosted Hills portal is crystal defense; the activity is drawn from a pool.
When to stop or switch
End the run after collecting the earned chests, or abandon the defense if protecting the objectives is no longer feasible.
