Before you go
- Have a compass and a map stage that accepts it.
- Unlock the current seasonal mechanic if the compass requires it.
- Be able to clear the stage’s normal content and its added challenge.
Farming steps
- Read the compass description and identify the encounter or reward it adds.
- Open the map setup interface and confirm the stage accepts that compass.
- Check the displayed effect and any compatibility or slot limits before committing.
- Choose a Timemark where the added encounter is within your character’s capability.
- Slot the compass and start the stage.
- Complete the map and the compass-added objective if it appears.
- Collect the resulting rewards and compare the run’s time and output with an unmodified map.
- Use compasses after learning the base route; basic mapping does not require spending one every run.
- The database notes a one-season-compass limit per Netherrealm stage; check the live interface for current constraints.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat while you have compatible compasses; each use consumes a resource and results vary with the effect.
Common mistakes
- Using a compass without reading its effect: verify the exact added content before spending it.
- Saving all compasses indefinitely: use one when its target fits your current map tier and goal.
