WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Farm Space Planning

Farm plots adjoining the Tavern, arranged into crop, tree, animal and walking areas.

Before you go

Farming steps

  1. List the crops and animal products needed for your current recipes before allocating all available ground.
  2. Mark a compact area for tilled vegetables and grain so routine tool passes stay together.
  3. Reserve unplowed ground for fruit trees; leave open space around each placement and avoid using it for crop rows.
  4. Place animal buildings in a separate zone where their feed and product checks do not cross the main crop route.
  5. Keep a walkable path from each farm zone toward storage and the kitchen or brewery.
  6. Plant only the season-compatible crops that fit the planned field, leaving unused ground available for later changes.
  7. During farm rounds, carry harvested goods along the path and note any bottleneck before expanding.

Repeat, collect and use

This is a one-time layout decision that can be revised as recipes, seasons and livestock needs change. The recurring loop is to follow clear paths, harvest and restock without converting all ground into one use.

Common mistakes

  • Tilling future tree space makes tree placement awkward; keep that ground unplowed.
  • Placing buildings across a crop route increases travel and obstructs tool passes; separate the zones.
  • Overfilling plots leaves no room for seasonal changes; keep some ground flexible.

When to stop or switch

Stop rearranging once each farm task has a clear route and storage can be reached without cutting through planted rows or animal spaces.
