Craft Forge options in Season Mode

Before you go
- Play a Season Mode character during The Farside.
- Have an eligible gear item and the Forge Essence you intend to use.
- Identify whether you need a guaranteed Forge option or a reconfiguration that retains at least one.
- Accept the item's current crafting and trade restrictions.
Farming steps
- Choose a gear base that fits your build and is worth further investment.
- Inspect its current options and identify the Forge modifier your build needs.
- Read the item tooltip for Birth Essence or Imbue Essence and confirm its effect before crafting.
- Use Birth Essence when you want options reconfigured with at least one Forge option retained.
- Use Imbue Essence when you want a Forge option applied with certainty and the item's remaining use count permits it.
- Review the resulting options and compare them with your build target.
- Keep the result if it improves the item; stop or move to another base if the outcome is no longer worthwhile.
- Reserve Imbue Essence for a base you plan to keep because the per-item use limit cannot be restored.
- Do not use Casthor casually as a substitute; it makes the item untradeable and bars other Essence use apart from revitalization.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat while you have eligible items and materials, subject to the Imbue Essence use limit per gear item. Forge option access described here is specific to Season Mode and The Farside.
Common mistakes
- Expecting Birth Essence to guarantee a specific Forge option: it guarantees at least one Forge option while reconfiguring options.
- Using Imbue Essence without checking the item's remaining uses: its limit cannot be recovered.
- Assuming these crafting effects are available in Standard Mode: the seasonal options are tied to Season Mode.
When to stop or switch
Stop when the item has the Forge option your build needs or when the remaining craft limit and material cost no longer justify further attempts.
