Before you go
- Play a Season Mode character during The Farside.
- Have an eligible gear item and the specific Essence you intend to apply.
- Know whether you are pursuing a seasonal Erosion option or a Forge option.
- Keep a backup or avoid using irreplaceable gear as an experimental base.
Farming steps
- Choose an item that fits your build and is worth the cost of further crafting.
- Confirm the character and item are in Season Mode and review the item's current options.
- Decide which Essence to use based on its stated function in the crafting interface.
- Apply the Essence only after confirming the target item and displayed restrictions.
- Inspect the resulting options for Erosion or Forge outcomes and compare them with your build needs.
- Keep a useful result, or stop investing if the item becomes unsuitable.
- Move to a better base when the current item is obsolete or the next craft is not worth its cost.
- Take the item's existing value into account before crafting; some Essence outcomes can substantially change options.
- Use the live crafting preview and rules because exact outcomes are not guaranteed.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeatable while you have eligible gear and crafting Essences, but Erosion is specific to The Farside Season Mode period and results are not guaranteed.
Common mistakes
- Assuming Erosion can be crafted in Standard Mode: the seasonal option is limited to Season Mode.
- Treating Imbue, Birth, and Casthor Essence as interchangeable: read each item's effect and restrictions.
- Continuing to spend materials on a weak base: switch to a better item when the current gear is no longer worth investment.
When to stop or switch
Stop once the item has an option set that meets your build goal, or when the cost and risk of another roll outweigh the likely improvement.
