Dew Collectors provide a passive way to build a base water reserve.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
A placed Dew Collector at your base or another accessible utility spot.
A Dew Collector fills Empty Water Jars over time. Its standard output is Murky Water, which you can purify at a Campfire with a Cooking Pot. Fitting a Water Filter changes the output to clean Water. Use this loop to maintain a reserve for drinking and other needs; collector behavior can vary with live game updates.
Workbench and materials for the current Dew Collector recipe.
Empty Water Jars to stock the collector.
Cooking Pot and Campfire for Murky Water, unless you use a Water Filter.
Craft the Dew Collector at a Workbench and place it somewhere you can reach easily.
Load Empty Water Jars into its inventory.
Choose the output you need: fit a Water Filter for clean Water, or collect Murky Water for later purification.
Allow the collector to fill its jars over time, then retrieve the filled jars.
Return empty jars to the collector to keep the cycle running.
For Murky Water, use a Cooking Pot over a Campfire to purify it before drinking.
Store the finished Water at your base and draw from the reserve as needed.
Farming tips
Operating collectors contribute heat; a separate utility location can move that contribution away from your main base area.
Keep spare Empty Water Jars available so you can reload the collector after collecting a batch.
Repeat, collect and use
This is an ongoing loop while the collector is operating and stocked: collect filled jars, process Murky Water if needed, and return empty jars. The water is not an instant refill.
Common mistakes
Leaving the collector without Empty Water Jars: reload it after each collection.
Drinking Murky Water untreated: purify it in a Cooking Pot unless a Water Filter is producing clean Water.
Removing or relocating a planted collector without checking its setup: collect its output and plan the move before dismantling.
When to stop or switch
Stop collecting when your reserve is sufficient, or move the station if its heat contribution or location makes it inconvenient.
