Reachable asteroid sectors toward the inner galaxy where the map displays Ogonite or Avorion.
Before you go
- Mining ship with a mining turret and a captain if using remote operations.
- Combat-capable protection suited to the selected sector’s threat.
- Cargo space for raw ore and a return route to a Resource Depot.
- Crew fit for the assignment and any needed combat roles.
Farming steps
- Search the galaxy map near the inner regions for a sector listing the specific ore needed.
- Inspect the sector’s threat and faction context; choose a safer target if the mining ship cannot withstand likely encounters.
- Confirm the ship can reach the target, has a working mining turret, and has enough cargo space.
- Travel to the sector and mine the asteroid field directly or assign the ship to a Mining Operation.
- For operations, scout beforehand when possible and review area score and cargo efficiency before accepting the risk.
- Return the miner before its hold fills or its defenses become a concern; use an escort or a safer sector if necessary.
- Unload at a Resource Depot and refine only the ore needed for the planned build, retaining the rest as raw stock if useful.
- Repeat the run only after reassessing the target sector, ship condition, and cargo space.
- The developer describes greater hostility nearer the core; treat protection and route reachability as part of the farming setup.
- Compare safer faction sectors with more dangerous unclaimed areas through the operation interface instead of assuming the highest score is always best.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeatable where the target material is present and your ship can safely travel and operate. Sector results and threat vary.
Common mistakes
- Assuming every inner sector contains both materials: confirm the specific ore on the map.
- Sending an unprotected miner because its operation score looks attractive: include the sector’s danger in the decision.
- Returning with a full hold and no depot plan: identify a Resource Depot before launching.
When to stop or switch
Stop when the required refined stock is ready for the intended late-game construction, or switch to a safer sector if losses or travel difficulty make the current route unsustainable.
