WHERE & HOW TO FARM Where to farm Golden Key Loot Chest, middle Deck B on Sanctuary III, east of the Fast Travel station.
Golden Keys come from SHiFT code redemption and arrive through in-game mail. Claim them, then open the Golden Key Loot Chest aboard Sanctuary III. The chest is a convenience for gear upgrades, not a repeatable farming source: each opening consumes a key, and the reward is not a guaranteed specific item.
Before you go Redeem a Borderlands 3 SHiFT code on a SHiFT account. Reach Sanctuary III in the campaign. Have a Golden Key available in the game’s Mail tab. Open the Social menu and go to the Mail tab. Claim the available Golden Key from the in-game message. Travel to Sanctuary III and go to middle Deck B, east of the Fast Travel station. Open the Golden Key Loot Chest and review the offered gear. Keep upgrades that fit your build and sell or discard the rest. Repeat only if you have another key you are willing to spend. Farming tips Keys are tied to their specific Borderlands title; a key for another game does not transfer to Borderlands 3. If you are saving keys for later gear, wait until your character has reached a level or build stage where chest results are useful. Repeat, collect and use Limited by the Golden Keys you redeem and claim. Each chest opening spends a key; there is no in-game loop here that replenishes them automatically.
Common mistakes Looking for the key in inventory without claiming mail: retrieve it through Social’s Mail tab. Opening the chest before you want to spend a key: each use consumes one. Expecting the chest to target a named legendary: compare general gear and use a dedicated farm for specific items. When to stop or switch Stop when the chest produces no useful upgrade or you want to save remaining keys for later progression.
