Collect gear to feed the Grinder

Sorting spare equipment into valid inputs turns otherwise unwanted drops into potential upgrades.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

Repeatable loot routes and the Grinder in Janey Springs’ Concordia workshop.

This is an inventory and processing loop: gather items you do not need, sort them by equipment category and rarity, then use compatible sets in Concordia’s Grinder. Keep gear that is valuable to your build or needed for a specific recipe. The output is randomized within the recipe rules, so feeding the machine should be a deliberate choice rather than automatic cleanup.

GET STARTED

How to farm

Before you go

  • Unlock the Grinder by completing Janey Springs’ Grinders mission.
  • Collect spare equipment that fits a valid recipe.
  • Keep valued or build-defining gear out of the input pile.
  1. Loot chests, enemies, and bosses while pursuing your current gear goal.
  2. At inventory review, separate weapons from shields, Oz kits, class mods, and grenade mods.
  3. Group items by compatible category, rarity, and level for the recipe you intend to use.
  4. Check the Grinder’s displayed recipe before placing anything in its slots.
  5. Compare the potential result with the value of the inputs you are about to consume.
  6. Process only unwanted items, then collect and inspect the generated gear.
  7. Keep useful results and return remaining expendable items to the next processing batch.

Farming tips

  • Hold onto spare items until you have a full compatible set instead of feeding the machine one item at a time.
  • If seeking a specific weapon class, use a valid recipe with a purple weapon of that class; do not assume any mixed trio can target it.

Repeat, collect and use

Repeatable while you continue collecting expendable compatible equipment. Every Grind consumes its inputs; there is no guaranteed return of the same items.

Common mistakes

  • Mixing incompatible gear categories can prevent the intended recipe; check machine eligibility first.
  • Using a prized item as filler risks losing it; mark or separate wanted gear before processing.
  • Assuming random results are targeted drops leads to disappointment; use dedicated sources for named items.

When to stop or switch

Stop processing when the remaining inventory is useful, inputs are too valuable to sacrifice, or the result no longer fits your build.
