Before you go
- Progress the campaign until Concordia and Janey Springs are accessible.
- Accept Janey’s Grinders side mission.
- Be prepared to complete the mission’s objectives as presented in-game.
Farming steps
- Find Janey Springs in her Concordia workshop.
- Speak with her and accept the Grinders side mission.
- Follow the mission markers and complete its requested objectives.
- Return to Janey or the machine as directed when the mission concludes.
- Interact with the newly unlocked Grinder and review its interface.
- Collect compatible spare equipment during later play.
- Use the machine when you have a valid recipe and are willing to consume its inputs.
- Unlocking it early gives you more opportunities to process duplicates as you progress.
- Keep special gear you still use; the machine consumes its inputs and its results are variable.
Repeat, collect and use
The mission unlock is a one-time progression step per character. Grinder use afterward is repeatable whenever you have eligible inputs.
Common mistakes
- Assuming the machine is available before completing Grinders can waste time searching; finish the side mission first.
- Putting essential gear into the machine risks losing it; set aside only expendable items.
- Expecting the unlock to provide a specific Legendary confuses access with an item reward; the machine produces recipe-based random results.
When to stop or switch
The unlock task ends when the mission completes and the Grinder becomes usable; return to it later when you have a clear processing goal.
