WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Crop Rotation for Farm Fertility

A farm’s growth calendar, configured through its crop controls after Crop Rotation research.

Before you go

Farming steps

  1. Choose a farm and inspect the available crops and its current fertility status.
  2. Research Crop Rotation if the farm cannot yet schedule multiple plants.
  3. Open the growth calendar and add two different crops that serve current food or production needs.
  4. Check neighboring entries, including the last and first calendar slots, for duplicate crops.
  5. Connect each crop output to storage or processing that accepts that material.
  6. Run the rotation and observe harvest flow and soil fertility over time.
  7. If fertility falls below the intended level, adjust the schedule or consider a compatible fertilizer route.

Repeat, collect and use

The crop calendar repeats continuously while the farm has suitable water and the scheduled crops remain available. Rotation is an ongoing production method, not a one-time reward.

Common mistakes

  • Repeating the same crop at the calendar boundary: check the final and first entries as adjacent.
  • Adding crops without a destination for their harvest: connect each output before expanding the schedule.
  • Using Green Manure as though it were food: it restores fertility but produces no food.

When to stop or switch

Switch crops or split production across farms if the calendar creates output congestion, fertility is unsustainable, or one harvest is no longer needed.
