WHERE & HOW TO FARM Where to farm Champion and elite enemies during Anomaly runs at Heroic difficulty or higher; spend the Crowns at Theo’s Transmuter.
Champion’s Crowns fund Rune transmutation: the recorded recipe charges 50 Crowns to extract a Legendary power onto a Runestone and another 50 to apply it to gear. The material is gated behind Heroic difficulty and character level 50, so lower-level or lower-difficulty farming cannot meet this goal. Target champion enemies during eligible runs, collect their material drops, and keep enough in reserve for both stages of the transfer you intend to finish.
Before you go Character level 50 or higher. Heroic difficulty or above unlocked and selected. A Rune transfer plan, including up to 100 Crowns for extraction plus application. Confirm your character is level 50 or higher and select Heroic or a higher difficulty. Choose an Anomaly route you can complete reliably at that difficulty. Defeat champion and elite enemies during the run and collect Champion’s Crowns they drop. Continue through the run and gather Crowns from eligible encounters rather than expecting them from lower difficulty. Return to town and count your Crown stock before using the Transmuter. Reserve 50 Crowns for extraction and another 50 if you intend to apply the Rune immediately. Repeat eligible runs until you have the budget for the planned transmutation. Farming tips Dungeon and Random Anomalies are both supported material routes; choose whichever eligible route your build completes more reliably. Do not spend the application reserve on another recipe if completing the Rune transfer is your current goal. Repeat, collect and use Repeatable at level 50+ on Heroic or higher. Crowns are collected through eligible enemy drops, not a one-time reward.
Common mistakes Farming below the level or difficulty gate; reach level 50 and use Heroic or above. Expecting a fixed Crown quantity from each run; collect drops from champions and track the actual total. Preparing only the extraction cost; budget the second 50 Crowns for Rune application. When to stop or switch Stop once your Crown reserve covers the intended transmutation steps; lower the difficulty only if you are no longer targeting Crowns.
