Geodes and Fossils

Collect geodes for Blacksmith processing and track mine fossils toward museum or altar collection goals.

PC / Global, current 1.x release
WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

Accessible floors in the Earth, Water, Wind, and Fire Mines; use the elevator to revisit floors already reached.

Mining supports two useful collection goals: gather geodes from mine rocks for the Blacksmith to open, and look for fossils among mine finds for collection progress. These are separate outcomes, and neither should be treated as a guaranteed drop from every rock. Keep geodes unopened until you can have them processed, then check discoveries and fossils against active museum, altar, or request needs before selling extras.

GET STARTED

How to farm

Before you go

  • Access to a mine and a pickaxe
  • Elevator access to revisit recorded floors
  • Inventory space for geodes, fossils, and other mine finds
  1. Choose an accessible mine and enter with your pickaxe.
  2. Break rocks while exploring the floor, collecting any geodes or fossil finds that appear.
  3. Continue toward the floor exit and descend; use the elevator once it records progress to return to explored floors later.
  4. Keep geodes unopened and sort fossil finds separately so they are easy to check against collection goals.
  5. Take geodes to the Blacksmith for opening when available.
  6. Review the resulting discoveries and fossil finds against museum, altar, and active request needs.
  7. Submit or donate needed items, and sell only surplus finds.

Farming tips

  • Mine floors provide ore, geodes, and fossils; do not assume each ore rock will produce all of them.
  • Revisit elevator floors when you need another mining run, instead of repeating the entire descent.

Repeat, collect and use

Mining runs can be repeated on accessible floors, but particular geodes, fossils, and discoveries are not guaranteed. Collect only while a current museum, altar, request, or processing goal remains.

Common mistakes

  • Expecting a fossil from every ore rock: collect mine finds as they appear and keep the categories distinct.
  • Selling geodes unopened: save them for the Blacksmith to process first.
  • Shipping a fossil or discovery without checking its use: compare it with active museum, altar, and request needs before selling.

When to stop or switch

Stop when your current collection or request goal is complete and you have enough geodes for the Blacksmith processing you intend to do; return to the elevator or switch to another progression task.
