WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
Outdoor crop beds on the farm.
Scarecrows protect outdoor crops from crows, and their coverage depends on the type you have. Place one near a field, inspect the protection area shown in game, then check the edges and corners for uncovered tiles. Greenhouse crops and fruit plants are exempt, so focus your coverage plan on ordinary outdoor crops.

Outdoor crops that need protection
Space to place or reposition the scarecrow
Check whether a scarecrow is available to craft through Farming mastery or obtain through a shop or festival.
Place it near the outdoor crop block you want to protect.
Inspect its displayed coverage area in game.
Check the outer rows, corners, and any irregular sections of the field.
Reposition the scarecrow or add another if crop tiles remain outside the shown area.
Repeat the coverage check whenever you enlarge or reshape the field.
Leave greenhouse crops and fruit plants out of this protection plan.
Farming tips
Use the displayed coverage for your specific scarecrow; different types do not necessarily protect the same area.
A field expansion can expose edge crops, so check coverage again after changing the layout.
Repeat, collect and use
Placement is a one-time setup for a stable field. Repeat the coverage check after moving a scarecrow or changing the outdoor plot; it is not a recurring crop-production loop.
Common mistakes
Assuming one scarecrow covers any field size: check its displayed area and add protection if needed.
Spending coverage on exempt greenhouse crops or fruit plants: prioritize ordinary outdoor crops.
Checking only the center of the plot: verify corners and edges too.
When to stop or switch
Stop adjusting scarecrows once every outdoor crop tile is inside a displayed protection area. Revisit the layout only when you expand, move, or reshape the field.
