WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

Clay Caves, immediately beside the Undergrounds around the Core.

Make a focused Clay Caves trip for Tin Ore, then smelt it into bars for the next workbench tier. The biome is accessible before the Great Wall opens.

GET STARTED

How to farm

Before you go

  • Pickaxe suitable for Clay terrain.
  • Combat supplies for larvae and Cavelings.
  • Furnace for Tin Bars.
  • Map access to record the route and ore finds.
  1. Start from the Core and explore through the Undergrounds until Clay Blocks identify the Clay Caves.
  2. If you first enter Forgotten Ruins, return to the Core and mine in another direction to find the neighboring Clay Caves.
  3. Look for Tin deposits in the cave walls and mine them with your pickaxe.
  4. Collect the dropped ore and keep clear of larva clusters and floor hazards while continuing the search.
  5. Return to base when your inventory or health calls for it, following your mapped route.
  6. Smelt Tin Ore in a Furnace and collect Tin Bars.
  7. Use bars for the next workbench and planned equipment, retaining any amount still needed for station recipes.

Farming tips

  • Tin does not require Titan victories or Great Wall access.
  • Do not confuse the Larva Hive with the ordinary Clay Caves; the hive’s dense larvae and hazards make it a separate risk.

Repeat, collect and use

Vein gathering repeats in unexplored Clay Caves terrain, but mined deposits do not renew. Explore additional branches when nearby ore is depleted.

Common mistakes

  • Searching beyond the Wall for Tin: begin in the inner-ring Clay Caves.
  • Entering the Hive to find ordinary Tin: search Clay terrain first and avoid the dangerous sub-biome unless intended.
  • Spending bars before station needs are checked: keep the workbench requirement in reserve.

When to stop or switch

Return to crafting once you have the Tin Bars for the next workbench and immediate gear; switch to Gold or Iron if those are your next recipe bottlenecks.
