WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
Across Dogtown, following an incoming aircraft cue, red smoke, and the cache’s alarm or beeping.
Dogtown airdrops provide more than Iconic weapons: caches can also contain randomized supplies, mods, clothing, and other loot, while the encounter itself leaves enemies to loot. Use the activity as a general collection loop when you are already exploring Dogtown. The drop locations are recurring opportunities, but there is no dependable timer or guaranteed contents for each cache. This is a Phantom Liberty activity and should not be confused with Night City Scanner Hustles.
Own Phantom Liberty and unlock airdrops by starting “Lucretia My Reflection” and leaving the hideout.
Have inventory space for varied loot and equipment.
Bring a combat build suited to Barghest defenders or a way to reach the cache without fighting.
Remain in Dogtown while traveling between jobs or exploration points and listen for the incoming aircraft cue.
Search the nearby skyline and streets for red smoke, then move toward the signal.
Follow the cache’s alarm or beeping as you get closer to pinpoint its location.
Assess the guard group and use cover to defeat or bypass the Barghest defenders.
Open the cache and complete its Breach Protocol interaction if required.
Loot the cache and then inspect the defeated enemies for additional equipment or supplies.
Review the haul, keeping useful gear and selling or dismantling surplus items for eddies or components.
Farming tips
Treat the airdrop as a side activity during Dogtown travel; do not plan around an unsupported fixed timer.
Secure the cache before leaving the vicinity because an active drop can despawn.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeatable whenever later airdrop opportunities appear in Dogtown. Individual caches are finite encounters and their randomized contents are not guaranteed.
Common mistakes
Searching Night City for the event: airdrops are a Dogtown feature.
Assuming every cache contains an Iconic: randomized supplies and ordinary gear are also possible.
Leaving after combat without opening the cache: claim its contents before traveling away.
When to stop or switch
Stop when the current cache is secured or inventory is full; continue on a later Dogtown pass if you still need supplies.
