Where to farm

The Obelisk of Greed is an encounter that rewards gold. Its payout scales with the number of obelisks already found in the current run, so there is no single fixed amount to plan around. Follow the minimap marker when the detour is safe, collect the reward, and return to the run’s main route.
Watch for yellow encounter markers on the minimap.
Keep enough safety and mobility to leave the main path and return.
Start the Act suited to your current progression goal.
Check the minimap as you travel and identify a yellow encounter marker.
Approach the marked point when nearby enemies and hazards allow a safe detour.
Interact with the Obelisk of Greed encounter.
Collect the gold reward shown by the game.
Resume the run toward the next boss, chest or progression checkpoint.
Farming tips
The amount scales with obelisks already found in that run, so treat the payout as variable.
Prioritize a safe encounter route over chasing an optional gold pickup through a dangerous area.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat when the Obelisk of Greed encounter appears in a later run. The reward is collected per encounter; it is not a permanent bonus or a fixed-rate farm.
Common mistakes
Expecting a known gold amount; the payout depends on prior obelisks in that run.
Forgetting to collect the reward after interacting; verify the gold pickup before leaving.
Abandoning a boss route for a risky detour; skip the marker when it threatens run survival.
