Earn Weapon Overclocks through Core Hunt

Weekly Core Hunt is a dependable post-promotion route to weapon and cosmetic Overclocks, with crafting handled afterward at the Forge.

PC / Global, current base game through Season 6
WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

Assignment Board aboard the Space Rig; after completion, use the Forge terminal on the rig.

Core Hunt turns three assigned missions into a weekly Matrix Core payout. Complete it when you want a predictable Overclock progression track; then forge the weapon core and fit the result to a weapon build. The assignment has a weekly limit, so it is a scheduled source rather than an endlessly repeatable mission farm.

GET STARTED

How to farm

Before you go

  • Promote a Dwarf and finish the nine-mission Breach the Core assignment to unlock Weekly Core Hunt.
  • Have access to the Assignment Board and Forge.
  • Check which missions are marked for your active assignment before launching.
  1. At the Assignment Board, select Weekly Core Hunt and review its first marked mission.
  2. Launch that exact mission; completing a similar mission without the assignment marker will not advance the chain.
  3. Return to the board and select the next marked mission as it becomes available.
  4. Finish all three assigned missions, adapting to their displayed mission type and biome.
  5. Claim the assignment reward. It grants a weapon and cosmetic Overclock; when those core collections are complete, the reward can become Blank Matrix Cores.
  6. At the Forge, choose a collected weapon Overclock and pay its listed crafting minerals.
  7. Install the forged Overclock in the equipment terminal and try it on the corresponding weapon.

Farming tips

  • The Weekly Core Hunt refreshes weekly; coordinate it with other weekly rewards while the marked missions are convenient.
  • Look at the Forge recipe before spending scarce crafting minerals, then mine or trade toward the displayed shortfall.

Repeat, collect and use

One completion per weekly rotation. After claiming it, wait for the next reset; replaying missions does not produce another Core Hunt reward.

Common mistakes

  • Launching the right mission type without the assignment marker does not count; select the currently marked node.
  • Treating the core as a ready-to-use weapon upgrade skips the Forge cost and crafting step; forge it, then equip it.
  • Assuming the reward repeats from replaying the three missions wastes time; track the assignment completion state.

When to stop or switch

Stop when all three assignment missions are complete and the reward is claimed. Switch to a Deep Dive or resource mining if you still need cores or Forge materials.
