Mining Ores
Surface Shiny Stone deposits across the island, then the Deep Mine after the deed and access requirements are met.
Before you go
- Mining Licence Level 1 and Pickaxe for surface mining.
- Stone Grinder to process mined Shiny Stones.
- For the Deep Mine: Mining Licences 1 and 2, Deep Mining Licence, completed Mine Deed, and Mine Pass.
Farming steps
- Purchase Mining Licence Level 1 and obtain a Pickaxe for surface nodes.
- Mine Shiny Stones found around the island.
- Take mined stones to a Stone Grinder and collect the resulting ore.
- For underground access, obtain Mining Licences 1 and 2, then the Deep Mining Licence.
- Ask Fletch for the Mine Deed and complete its construction.
- Buy a Mine Pass from John before a descent.
- Use the elevator console to enter, mine the deposits you need, and use the lift input to bring selected finds back.
- Keep surface ore and Deep Mine materials as separate goals; the latter needs several progression gates.
- Carry enough inventory space for the finds you intend to retrieve.
Repeat, collect and use
Surface mining can be repeated as you find Shiny Stones. Deep Mine trips require a Mine Pass for entry; repeat the license and elevator procedure as needed.
Common mistakes
- A Mine Pass alone does not unlock the mine; secure the licences and completed deed first.
- Expecting Shiny Stones to yield ready ore skips processing; take them to the Stone Grinder.
- Entering without room for the intended haul can limit what you bring back; clear inventory before descending.
When to stop or switch
Stop surface mining when you have enough processed ore for the current project. Delay Deep Mine trips until its licenses, deed, pass, and supplies are ready.
