Before you go
- Unlock the Fishing Rod.
- Unlock access to the target fish’s biome.
- Have inventory space for catches.
Farming steps
- Check the target fish’s biome and ripple color in your collection information.
- Travel to that biome and scan its water for ripple pools.
- Cast the line into a colored pool matching the target.
- Reel in the catch and check whether it is the fish you need.
- Repeat at matching pools until you have the required amount.
- Reserve quest fish, then cook, store, or sell other catches.
- Use open water when your goal is common catches or seaweed; use colored pools for rarer fish.
- A Fishing-role companion can provide bonus catches while you fish.
Repeat, collect and use
Fish pools and open water support repeated fishing; continue until the requested catch or stock target is reached.
Common mistakes
- Casting into open water for a fish restricted to a colored pool is inefficient; match the pool first.
- Fishing in the wrong biome cannot meet a biome-linked target; travel to the correct water.
- Selling before setting aside quest fish can undo progress; reserve those catches.
When to stop or switch
Stop when you have the target fish quantity; switch to open water for basic fish or seaweed if that becomes your goal.
