How to farm

Before you go

Check the current season and inspect the crop requirements before planting.
Prepare distinct, reachable groupings for garlic and onion.
Arrange neighboring crops to suit the family conditions shown by the plants.
Inspect moisture and nutrient state as the crops grow.
Water and supply the indicated nutrients when needed.
Tend plants when requested and clear weeds or debris.
Harvest mature crops and keep seeds or enough produce for bird conversion before cooking.

Farming tips

Separate the two seed types in storage so each crop can be replanted intentionally.
Avoid growing more than you can tend; stressed plants are a poor basis for a dependable cooking supply.

Repeat, collect and use

Repeat with saved or bird-converted seeds when the season and soil conditions suit the crops.

Common mistakes

Planting without checking family neighbors: inspect and adjust the layout before expanding.
Using all produce in cooking: keep seed stock or bird-conversion produce first.
Applying fertilizer without checking which nutrient is needed: use the plant’s displayed requirement.
