- Surplus produce from farming or foraging.
- Storage space for sorted seeds.
Farming steps
- Gather produce from a harvest or forage trip and decide what is genuinely surplus.
- Bring the spare produce to the Bird Cage beside the farm.
- Feed the produce to the bird and collect the seeds it returns.
- Sort seeds by type so you know what crop each can support.
- Put aside a portion of the seed output for the next planting rather than using every seed at once.
- Plant the selected seeds in farm plots while conditions allow crops to grow.
- Repeat the cycle after another harvest, feeding only the produce you can afford to spare.
- Keep seed storage separate from the meal supply and label or sort it by crop.
- If the output does not match the crop you planned, save it for another bed rather than planting it blindly.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat while the bird is caged and surplus produce is available. The loop pauses when you lack feedstock; it does not create seeds without produce input.

- Using produce needed for survival: feed only a true surplus.
- Assuming a specific seed return: inspect and sort the bird’s output before planting.
- Failing to keep seed reserves: retain enough planting stock to begin the next crop cycle.
When to stop or switch
Stop feeding the bird when your next farm batch has enough seed or when the produce is more valuable as food. Restart after another surplus harvest.
