Use the Duskmoon Tower Cursed Dragon encounter as a repeatable combat target for Rift Crystals and dragonforging opportunities.
PC / Global, Dark Arisen edition with Bitterblack Isle
WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
Duskmoon Tower courtyard, beside the Void Key door to the Vault of Defiled Truth.
Duskmoon Tower provides a deliberate Cursed Dragon encounter using Rancid Bait Meat. The route is useful when you can defeat the dragon consistently and want its encounter rewards, including any Rift Crystals it yields. It is not a guaranteed fixed amount of RC. This is a Bitterblack Isle route for Dark Arisen; prepare for a difficult fight and confirm that your equipment and party can survive it before trying to repeat it.
Reach Duskmoon Tower through Bitterblack Isle progression.
Open the Vault of Defiled Truth door with the Void Key.
Carry Rancid Bait Meat and suitable healing items.
Bring equipment you want to expose to dragonforging during the fight.
Travel from the harbor through the Isle to Duskmoon Tower and unlock the route to its courtyard.
Clear the courtyard enemies so they do not complicate the dragon fight.
Stand near the Void Key door and use Rancid Bait Meat from inventory to summon the Cursed Dragon.
Fight carefully, targeting openings and reviving fallen pawns when safe.
After the encounter, collect the actual drops, including any RC, and check whether equipped gear was dragonforged.
Enter the Vault of Defiled Truth through the door, then return to the Tower to refresh the encounter as described by the route.
Use another bait only when ready to repeat the courtyard fight.
Farming tips
Bring a party with damage and support options suited to a dragon; do not spend bait while still clearing the courtyard.
Keep your desired upgrade candidates equipped, but avoid risking gear you cannot afford to repair or replace.
Repeat, collect and use
The encounter can be refreshed by moving through the Vault and returning to the Tower. Each attempt consumes Rancid Bait Meat, and RC or dragonforging outcomes should not be treated as guaranteed.
Common mistakes
Using bait before clearing nearby enemies; clear the courtyard first to keep the fight focused.
Expecting a fixed RC yield; inspect the drops after each victory and budget based on what actually appears.
Repeating while low on healing or bait; restock and recover at the harbor before another attempt.
When to stop or switch
Stop when bait, healing, or party stability is low, or when the RC and dragonforging gains no longer justify the risk of another fight.
