Mine rare materials on the Isle exterior

Gather Bitterblack Isle mining materials from the exterior and bring them to Barroch when an enhancement calls for them.

PC / Global, Dark Arisen edition with Bitterblack Isle
WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

Cliffside mining points along the Bitterblack Isle exterior near the harbor.

The cliffs outside Bitterblack Isle harbor contain mining points that can yield island-specific materials such as Hunks of Platinum, Lava Rocks, and Moonstones, alongside familiar minerals. These materials are useful when Barroch’s enhancement menu requests them. Mining results can vary, so collect the visible deposits rather than planning around a guaranteed item. The route is in Dark Arisen with Bitterblack Isle; some particularly elevated ledges require traversal abilities, but the basic mining points do not all require the same skill.

GET STARTED

How to farm

Before you go

  • Reach Bitterblack Isle and exit the harbor onto the exterior paths.
  • Bring a pickaxe if your setup requires one for mining.
  • Bring Double Vault or Levitate only if attempting the elevated eastern cliff route.
  • Have inventory room for minerals.
  1. Leave the harbor and follow the exterior cliff paths, checking visible rock deposits along the way.
  2. Interact with each mining point and collect the items produced.
  3. Continue along the accessible ledges rather than jumping toward an unreachable deposit.
  4. For the elevated eastern route, climb the eastern short pillar with Double Vault or Levitate.
  5. If using Levitate, cross to the southern ledge and follow it to the ramp leading east and upward.
  6. Check your inventory after the circuit to see which materials you obtained and in what quantities.
  7. Return to Barroch and compare the stock with the requirements on the equipment you intend to enhance.

Farming tips

  • Make a short list of materials Barroch actually requires before returning to mine, so you can stop once the quota is met.
  • Avoid overburdening the party with common materials if only one rare mineral is needed.

Repeat, collect and use

Mining points can be revisited as part of Isle exploration, but the exact contents are not guaranteed. Repeat the circuit only while you still need materials for a planned enhancement.

Common mistakes

  • Assuming every deposit gives the same rare mineral; record actual yields and visit more points if needed.
  • Attempting the high ledge without the traversal skill for that route; collect accessible deposits or return prepared.
  • Mining without checking Barroch’s requirement; target the material your equipment needs.

When to stop or switch

Stop once you have enough of the requested material for your chosen enhancement, then switch to Barroch’s service rather than continuing to stockpile without a use.
