Open connecting gates from their interior sides to make later Bitterblack Isle trips through explored areas faster.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
Interior-facing gates and connecting paths on Bitterblack Isle, including southern exterior routes near the harbor.
Bitterblack Isle routes include gates and passages that connect back toward earlier sections or the exterior. Some are closed when approached from the harbor side, so exploration can reveal access from the opposite direction. Opening these connections reduces the amount of dungeon you must cross during later trips. Shortcuts support navigation; they do not automatically refresh enemies or guarantee loot. This progression method applies to Dark Arisen’s Isle and works best alongside deliberate room exploration.
Unlock access to Bitterblack Isle and reach the route where a gate or connection appears.
Bring supplies for the rooms between the harbor and the shortcut.
Use the Isle map and landmarks to track already explored areas.
Allow time to clear threats guarding the interior side.
Begin from the harbor and follow the main route until you reach an unexplored room or branch.
Clear nearby enemies before inspecting gates and doors.
Check whether a closed connection leads back toward an area you have already visited.
If it is locked from this side, continue through the room and search for its interior approach rather than repeatedly interacting with the closed face.
Open the gate from the side where its mechanism is accessible.
Confirm that the path now links to the earlier area, then return to the harbor if supplies are low.
On later trips, use the connection to bypass cleared sections and reach the next target.
Farming tips
Open shortcuts as part of normal exploration instead of making a separate trip just to find them.
Mark doors that remain locked so you can revisit them after reaching the connecting area.
Repeat, collect and use
Shortcut opening is generally a one-time route improvement per gate. Reuse the opened connections on later excursions; they are not repeatable loot rewards.
Common mistakes
Expecting to open every gate from the harbor side; approach it from the connected interior room.
Mistaking a shortcut for an item reset; it changes travel options, not chest or enemy behavior.
Rushing past an unopened connection; check side routes before advancing further.
When to stop or switch
Stop searching for shortcuts once the route to your current target is direct enough; switch back to progression or farming rather than backtracking through fully cleared rooms.
