Before you go
- Research Labs
- The matrix items required by the displayed research level
- A working matrix supply and belt route
- Active mines or oil extractors to benefit from the upgrade
Farming steps
- Open the research tree and select the available Veins Utilization level.
- Check the listed matrix requirements for that level in the research interface.
- Produce those matrices and belt them to the Research Labs.
- Configure the labs to research Veins Utilization and confirm they are consuming the needed inputs.
- When a level completes, inspect its effect and continue to another level if resources allow.
- Check active miner and Oil Extractor output after research to see how the upgrade changes your supply.
- Use the improved production to rebalance belts and logistics before expanding deposits.
- Each level increases mining rate while reducing consumption per unit through a compounding effect.
- Higher output can expose a downstream belt or refinery bottleneck, so check the whole chain.
Repeat, collect and use
Research is repeatable through successive levels, subject to the matrices and research access shown in game. It is a progression investment rather than a resource farm with a collected item.
Common mistakes
- Assuming every level has the same depletion outcome; review the current level's displayed effects.
- Researching without a steady matrix feed; fix missing matrix production or lab inputs first.
- Adding more miners before accounting for upgraded extraction; recheck existing output after each level.
When to stop or switch
Pause when the next level's matrix cost competes with a more urgent unlock, or when current mining capacity already meets demand. Resume when resource efficiency or output becomes a priority.
