Before you go

Farming steps
- Identify one stone patch and one coal patch, checking each patch before placing a miner.
- Position a Mining Machine over the stone veins and connect it to power.
- Run the stone output on its own belt to construction-material production or storage.
- Place a second powered miner over coal and connect a separate belt.
- Route coal to its intended fuel or production consumers, with a reserve if other lines depend on it.
- Check both belts for backups and shortages before adding more mining capacity.
- A miner covering more veins extracts faster, but the covered veins are depleted sooner.
- Use separate buffers if coal serves more than one purpose, so one consumer cannot silently empty the whole supply.
Repeat, collect and use
Extraction continues as long as each patch has veins remaining. Rebuild the relevant line on a new patch when stone or coal runs low.
Common mistakes
- Combining stone and coal on one unfiltered belt; keep the materials on separate routes.
- Letting fuel demand consume all coal without checking other consumers; reserve or prioritize the needed output.
- Adding miners while a full belt or stalled consumer blocks the route; fix the blockage before expanding.
When to stop or switch
Stop expanding each mine once its own consumers have a steady supply. Switch to a fresh patch when its current veins are depleted or demand cannot be met.
