- Own a unique weapon that uses Somber Smithing Stones.
- Reach the bearing’s mine or region; some are guarded by bosses.
- Bring a suitable weapon, healing, and enough runes for stones after the unlock.
Farming steps
- Inspect the unique weapon’s reinforcement screen and note its next Somber tier.
- Find the Somberstone Miner’s Bell Bearing associated with that tier in its mine or region.
- Explore the route to the bearing and defeat its guarding enemy if required.
- Collect the bearing and travel to Roundtable Hold.
- Offer it to the Twin Maiden Husks.
- Check the shop to verify the newly listed Somber tiers.
- Buy the needed stone and take it to a smith to reinforce your armament.
- The first Somberstone Miner’s Bell Bearing is obtained from the Fallingstar Beast in Sellia Crystal Tunnel and unlocks tiers 1 and 2.
- Iji can sell early Somber tiers; check his stock if you need an immediate upgrade before pursuing a bearing.
Repeat, collect and use
Each bearing is collected once. The shop stock it unlocks can be purchased repeatedly with runes, including tiers through 9 as later bearings are delivered.
Common mistakes
- Expecting every bearing to unlock the whole Somber track: inspect the shop after each delivery and continue progression for higher tiers.
- Using the standard miner bearing route for a unique weapon: Somber tiers have their own bearings.
- Attempting a guarded mine without preparation: use healing and a fitting damage approach for its boss.
When to stop or switch
Stop the bearing route when the Husks stock the next tier your weapon needs; resume when a later reinforcement requires another tier.
