Survey biological signals with the Nomad available for surface mobility, then complete and sell valid sample sets.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
Biological signal regions on mapped, landable Odyssey worlds; completed data is sold at Vista Genomics in a station concourse.
Odyssey biological sampling requires an Artemis suit's Genetic Sampler; an SRV does not replace the sampler. The Nomad can support surface travel where equipped, while the actual biology route is to map a planet, find a species, collect its required distinct samples and sell completed data at Vista Genomics. Sample distance requirements vary by species, so follow the sampler's diversity indicator rather than assuming a universal spacing. This is a PC Live Odyssey activity; console Legacy players do not share current Odyssey surface content.
A landable planet with biological signals; a ship or Nomad SRV can help traverse the surface.
A route back to a station concourse with Vista Genomics before risking unsold data.
Use the Full Spectrum System Scanner to identify bodies with biological signals.
Map the promising body with a Detailed Surface Scanner and inspect the biological regions on its map.
Land near a region and use the sampler to identify a collectable species.
Take the first sample, then travel far enough for the sampler to accept a genetically distinct sample from that species.
Collect the next valid sample or samples until the species set registers complete.
Finish one species before beginning another, then repeat for other species on the planet.
Return to Vista Genomics and sell the completed biological data.
Farming tips
The sample meter enforces species-specific diversity; a second sample too close to the first will not complete the set.
Sell before taking risky trips: unsold exploration and biology data can be lost if the ship is destroyed.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat for each eligible species and planet. A sample set is collected once per species observation; you cannot endlessly farm the same completed set as a fresh payout. New planets and uncompleted species provide new survey targets.
Common mistakes
Using the Nomad as if it collected samples; use the Genetic Sampler on foot.
Starting another species before finishing the current set; complete the distinct samples first.
Selling at Universal Cartographics instead of Vista Genomics; use the biology service for exobiology data.
When to stop or switch
Stop a species run when the sampler marks its set complete; return to Vista Genomics when the accumulated data is valuable enough that you want to bank it safely.
