Find surface ore rocks and use the Survival Tool’s Rock Drill mode to break one only after its material label confirms Copper. The world’s resource mix varies, so rely on the label rather than a memorized location.
Repeat at other Copper-labeled rocks while they remain available. Each rock is a limited pickup; move on when nearby sources are gone or your immediate Copper requirement is met.
Stop gathering when your inventory holds enough Copper Ore for the current recipes you intend to craft, or switch to another resource search if labeled Copper rocks are difficult to find.
