The Seedbed turns collected wild plants into seedlings, which establish repeatable crop production at your base. It connects exploration to farming and reduces the need to gather every crop in the wild.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
The Farmer's Seedbed workstation at your home base, beside compatible crop plots.
Rescue the Farmer, place her Seedbed, and collect wild examples of plants whose seedlings you want to grow. Use recipe panels to craft seedlings, check soil compatibility, then plant and harvest. This is a general production method; each crop still has its own unlock and material requirements.
Wild harvest of the plant needed to reveal its recipe.
Ingredients shown in the current recipe and soil accepted by the crop.
Choose a specific crop that supports a current crafting or cooking goal.
Gather that plant in the wild so its Seedbed recipe can become available.
Return to the Farmer and inspect the recipe, including all current ingredient requirements.
Craft a manageable starter batch of seedlings.
Prepare the appropriate Farm Soil, dirt, or sand plot for that crop.
Plant the seedlings, harvest when ready, and sort output between use and continued production.
Farming tips
Check recipe and soil panels before gathering in bulk because crops have different requirements.
Keep a separate reserve for continued planting before using the harvest for other recipes.
Repeat, collect and use
For ongoing crops, reserve inputs and repeat the Seedbed-to-planting-to-harvest cycle. Some crops require an initial wild collection to unlock production.
Common mistakes
Expecting every seedling recipe at the start: harvest the plant first and revisit the Seedbed.
Using the wrong soil: confirm compatibility for each crop before planting.
Consuming all output: hold enough material to sustain the next batch.
When to stop or switch
Stop making seedlings when the crop stock meets its ongoing demand; use the Seedbed for another crop with a clearer current purpose.
