Research this technology as science production permits, then use the added ore output in existing production lines. Mining productivity increases the amount a drill produces without requiring another patch, but smelting and transport still need room for the additional flow.
Before you go Mining Productivity available in the technology tree. The science packs shown for the current research level. Operating mining drills and enough downstream capacity to use extra output. Open the technology interface and locate Mining Productivity. Check the current level’s displayed science requirements. Supply the required packs to research labs and begin research. Keep labs supplied until the level completes. Check operating drill output and downstream belt or furnace capacity. Direct extra ore to a line that needs it or a suitable buffer. Research further available levels when their cost fits factory priorities. Farming tips Inspect smelting and transport before adding consumers for the extra ore. The bonus may delay an outpost when logistics or defense is the current constraint. Repeat, collect and use Further levels are repeatable when available; completed research is permanent in the save.
Common mistakes Expecting research to progress without required science in labs; supply the displayed packs. Assuming mined output automatically becomes finished goods; increase downstream capacity if needed. Researching every level regardless of factory priorities; weigh the cost against current needs. When to stop or switch Pause further levels when their science is more useful elsewhere or the factory cannot process the added output.
