WHERE & HOW TO FARM Where to farm Outlying Nauvis patches beyond the current factory.
Choose a Nauvis patch that addresses a real shortage and plan its return route before building. A working expansion needs extraction, transport, receiving capacity, power, and defenses where enemy pressure threatens the installation.
Before you go Drills and fuel or power. A belt route or rail connection with stations. Defenses appropriate to nearby enemy pressure. Identify the resource shortage and scout for a suitable patch. Plan how output will reach its consumer before laying out the mine. Place drills, supply power, and gather output at a belt or loading point. For rail delivery, add a named loading stop and a matching receiving stop. Protect exposed drills, power, and transport sections where needed. Observe delivery and locate the limiting stage: extraction, loading, travel, or unloading. Add another patch only after the existing route cannot meet demand. Farming tips Keep the loading belt simple enough to inspect for flow problems. Check train stop names against schedule entries when stations are added. Repeat, collect and use A patch can supply resources until depleted; building another outpost is repeatable as demand grows.
Common mistakes Connecting a mine before its receiving route is ready; establish transport and destination capacity first. Adding drills while loading or unloading is blocked; check the full delivery chain. Leaving exposed equipment unprotected in enemy territory; include defenses and repair access. When to stop or switch Stop adding capacity once delivery is steady; find another patch when the current one is depleted or inadequate.
