WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Fall and Winter Crops

Outdoor farm plots in Fall; greenhouse beds in any season after the required Carpenter progression.

Before you go

Farming steps

  1. Check the Fall crop list and calendar before buying seeds; select crops that can mature before Winter.
  2. Till a manageable number of outdoor plots, plant Fall seeds, and water them each morning.
  3. Harvest mature Fall crops and reserve first copies for Museum sets, requests, or recipes.
  4. If year-round Winter production is the goal, progress the town story and Carpenter upgrade rather than expecting outdoor beds to grow crops in Winter.
  5. Once the greenhouse is built, plant crops suited to its year-round beds and keep track of their growth and regrow behavior.
  6. Water greenhouse crops, harvest ready produce, and retain seeds or first copies needed for future planting and goals.
  7. Ship only the remaining surplus.

Repeat, collect and use

Fall outdoor planting is limited to that season each year. Greenhouse planting and harvesting can continue year-round once the building is unlocked, subject to crop behavior.

Common mistakes

  • Planting an outdoor crop too late may leave no harvest before Winter; check its listed growth period.
  • Assuming the greenhouse is available from the start leads to a blocked plan; complete the Carpenter story upgrade first.
  • Shipping every harvest can leave no first copy for a collection or later planting; reserve those items before shipping.

When to stop or switch

Stop adding outdoor Fall plots when the remaining days are too few for a crop to mature. After Fall, switch to greenhouse beds if unlocked, or focus on animals, mining, and collection goals.
