WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
Dawntrail treasure locations revealed by deciphering a map, followed by a possible portal to the expansion treasure dungeon.
A treasure map party follows a deciphered location to an outdoor coffer, defeats its guards, and shares rewards. A high-level map may open a Dawntrail treasure dungeon after the chest is cleared, but ordinary maps do not guarantee a portal. The map is consumed when the trap triggers, so have the party ready before using Dig. Chest contents depend on the map and are not guaranteed drops.

A timeworn map appropriate for the party’s combat level.
A party able to handle the selected map’s enemies.
Gather a map from an eligible ordinary level 40 or higher node, or acquire one by another in-game method; unspoiled nodes do not yield maps.
Use Decipher to reveal the general area, then compare it with the zone map.
Meet the party and travel together to the likely location.
Use Dig at the correct spot to spawn the coffer and guarding enemies.
Defeat the marked enemies without leaving the area or letting the encounter time out.
Open the coffer after the guards fall and collect the party rewards.
If a portal appears, enter the treasure instance and continue through its encounters for further possible rewards.
Farming tips
Gathering yields at most one map every 18 Earth hours, though maps from other sources can also be used.
Undeciphered maps can be traded; deciphering turns one into a key item that cannot be sold.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat with another map. Highest-level expansion maps may open a portal, but outdoor chest completion does not guarantee one.
Common mistakes
Using Dig before the group is ready; the map is consumed when the trap activates.
Leaving the area or failing to defeat the guards in time; stay until the coffer is secured.
Expecting every map to open a portal; treat it as a possible outcome unless that map type specifies a guarantee.
When to stop or switch
Stop after the group’s planned maps or when members are done. Return to ordinary gathering if you want another gatherable map and the acquisition limit permits.
