WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
Retainer Venture menu at any summoning bell; choose an available 18-hour exploration venture for an eligible retainer.
An 18-hour retainer exploration is a low-attention, limited-frequency way to receive Allagan Pieces that can be sold to vendors for gil. The return also has a chance to include other items, so treat those as bonuses rather than guaranteed targets. This route uses a retainer’s venture dispatch, not gathering or a combat duty. Retrieve the completed venture and vendor the pieces if gil is your goal; keep any other return only when it serves a plan.
At least one retainer with access to the exploration venture menu.
A venture token to dispatch the retainer.
Inventory space to receive and sort the return.
Visit a summoning bell and open Retainer Ventures.
Select a retainer eligible for an 18-hour exploration and inspect the displayed venture details.
Dispatch the venture, confirming the duration and token cost shown in the menu.
Continue other activities while the retainer is away.
Return to a summoning bell after completion and retrieve the venture results.
Separate Allagan Pieces from any other items in the return.
Sell the pieces to an NPC vendor for gil, and retain other items only if useful.
Farming tips
The checklist describes several Allagan Pieces as a guaranteed part of 18-hour returns; treat additional items as variable.
Use the venture menu’s eligibility and cost display, which can vary with retainer progression.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat after each venture completes when you have another token. Each dispatch takes 18 hours; the Allagan Pieces are vendor currency rather than an unlimited immediate payout.
Common mistakes
Expecting the retainer back immediately; this venture takes 18 hours.
Counting on a specific bonus item; only treat the displayed return as confirmed.
Discarding or selling all returns without checking their use; sort items before vendoring.
When to stop or switch
Stop when the gil target is met or you have no venture token available. Dispatch again when the retainer returns if you still want the vendor-gil return.
