Crystal Cores come from caught Crystalflies and are used in crafting, including Condensed Resin. Combine a delayed trap payout with manual catches at familiar gathering areas when you need cores sooner.

How to farm

The Crystalfly Trap can be placed at a safe open-world spot, even where Crystalflies are absent. Manual collection areas include Dawn Winery, Clear Pool and Mountain Cavern, and Guyun Stone Forest.

Before you go

  • Reach Fontaine Reputation Level 3 to obtain the Crystalfly Trap; Fontaine Reputation requires Chapter IV Act II and the Steambird Interview quest.
  • Have 30 eligible ore pieces to operate the trap.
  • For manual collection, approach a Crystalfly and interact to catch it; do not attack it.
  1. Open Fontaine Reputation rewards and claim the Crystalfly Trap at Level 3 if it is not already in your inventory.
  2. Choose a safe open-world location and place the trap.
  3. Interact with its orb and supply 30 eligible ore pieces.
  4. Leave the gadget until its map banner and device state show that collection is ready after seven days.
  5. Claim the trap’s 15 Crystal Cores.
  6. For immediate additional cores, travel to Dawn Winery, Clear Pool and Mountain Cavern, or Guyun Stone Forest.
  7. Approach visible Crystalflies and catch them one at a time; check inventory as you go.
  8. Use the cores in the crafting menu for Condensed Resin or another recipe that requires them.

Farming tips

  • A caught Crystalfly gives one core; attacking it makes it disappear without the core.
  • The trap is a slow supplement to manual catching, not an instant substitute for a route.

Repeat, collect and use

The trap produces one 15-core collection after its seven-day cycle and must be supplied again for another cycle. Manual catches return after the reported 24-hour respawn; route yield varies.

Common mistakes

  • Attacking a Crystalfly: interact to catch it so it yields a core.
  • Expecting the trap immediately: wait for its ready state and seven-day cycle.
  • Assuming a route gives a fixed count: visible spawns and account state vary.

When to stop or switch

Stop when your Crystal Core stock covers the next crafting plan; activate the trap again only when you can spare the ore and will use its later payout.
