Before you go
- Access to the Technology menu and Farming and Nature branch.
- An unlocked fertilizer recipe whose listed effect fits your crop goal.
- The ingredients displayed by that recipe.
- An empty garden bed ready for preparation.
Farming steps
- Open Farming and Nature and inspect the fertilizer recipes you can unlock.
- Read the recipe details and identify whether its effect supports crop quality, growth, or another stated outcome.
- Unlock the selected recipe using the displayed technology cost.
- Gather the exact ingredients listed in the recipe and bring them to the named crafting station.
- Craft the fertilizer and carry it to the Kitchen Garden.
- Select an empty bed and apply the fertilizer before planting.
- Sow the crop that benefits from the chosen effect, then track whether the resulting harvest meets your goal.
- Reserve advanced fertilizer for crops whose quality or output matters to a planned recipe or sale.
- Compare the in-game recipe descriptions instead of assuming every fertilizer has the same effect.
Repeat, collect and use
Crafting and application are repeatable while ingredients are available. Recipe unlocks are one-time, but fertilizer itself is consumed per use as indicated in the game.
Common mistakes
- Applying fertilizer after sowing: prepare the empty bed first.
- Crafting from a remembered ingredient list: follow the station’s current recipe display.
- Using a quality-focused input when growth is the real bottleneck: choose by the stated effect.
When to stop or switch
Stop crafting the selected fertilizer when the target crop supply or quality is adequate; switch recipe or crop when your goal changes.
