WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
Enemy encounters throughout Shattered Realm shards entered through Mazaan in the Conclave of the Three.
Shattered Souls are drops from enemies in the Shattered Realm. Absorbing one contributes bonus progress toward the next chunk and grants a short-lived damage and toughness buff that stacks and refreshes when another soul is collected. Common and Champion enemies have a small chance to drop souls; Heroes and Nemeses always provide more potent ones. This makes soul collection part of the normal clear loop rather than a separate resource route.
Forgotten Gods and access to Mazaan in the Conclave of the Three.
A build suited to repeated encounters and the current shard’s mutators.
Enough survival capacity to collect drops while the timer is active.
Enter a Shattered Realm shard through Mazaan.
Clear enemies in each chunk and watch for Shattered Soul drops.
Move over a dropped soul to absorb it, adding progress and receiving its temporary buff.
Prioritize safe pickups while the buff is active, using the added damage and toughness to keep clearing.
Defeat the shard guardian once the progress bar advances to the end of the chunk sequence.
Collect the reward or continue deeper, depending on your remaining time and build condition.
Use a Waystone on a later attempt if you want to start within a shard range already unlocked.
Farming tips
Heroes and Nemeses are reliable sources of potent souls, so include them in your clear when safe.
Do not risk a death for a single pickup; death penalizes the timer and can undo the value of the detour.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeatable on every Shattered Realm run. Individual souls are drops, not a permanent inventory resource, and common-enemy drops are not guaranteed.
Common mistakes
Expecting every enemy to drop a soul: common and Champion drops are uncommon; continue clearing.
Ignoring the buff: collect souls when safe so the temporary combat benefit can help the next fights.
Chasing drops through danger: prioritize survival and shard completion over a risky detour.
When to stop or switch
Stop collecting when you have enough progress to reach the guardian or when the timer and danger make pickups unsafe; claim the shard reward if the run is deteriorating.
