Where to farm

The Vault: enter from the gold-trail opening after the Greed event; destroy all four pillars to unseal Lord of Greed.

The Vault is a distinct repeat route for Torment Shards, not a generic artifact run. Its entrance appears after the Greed event takes the Wellkeeper away; follow the gold trail to the Vault. There, the Lord of Greed is sealed behind four pillars. Destroy those pillars to open the arena, defeat the boss, and collect the Torment Shard reward. The shard is a permanent resource used at the Scriptor, so this route is useful when you are targeting that upgrade currency. The Vault uses tribute to add modifiers, and its notes state that every fourth modifier adds a Torment Shard to the final drop; verify tribute cost and modifiers in the current run because those choices affect danger. The boss must be deliberately unsealed after the pillars rather than appearing automatically at a kill-count threshold. Repeat the event only while the shard or related Vault reward is still needed, and avoid paying for modifiers your build cannot handle.

How to farm

Before you go

Unlock the Wellkeeper and be able to trigger the Greed event in a hall.
Have a build capable of surviving the Vault’s selected modifiers.
Know the Scriptor upgrade that needs Torment Shards.

During a run, follow the Greed event progression until the Wellkeeper disappears.
Follow the gold trail to the Vault entrance and enter it.
Review the tribute/modifier options and pay only what suits your build and shard goal.
Locate and destroy each of the four pillars; the Lord remains sealed until they are cleared.
After the arena opens, activate/engage Lord of Greed and defeat it.
Collect the final drop and verify Torment Shards in your inventory.
Spend shards at the Scriptor, then repeat the Vault route only if another upgrade requires them.

Farming tips

Every fourth modifier is documented as adding a Torment Shard to the final drop; do not extrapolate a precise total from that alone.
The Lord does not automatically appear just because a run has lasted a certain time; the pillars gate the encounter.
Tribute choices add risk, so use the current menu display rather than copying an old cost.
