Before you go

Know the intended runeword and its required base type and socket count.
Confirm the route can drop that base through the Journal or current item source information.
Configure the loot filter to show the exact base and any acceptable alternatives.
Have enough inventory space to retain matching drops for inspection.

Write down the runeword’s base type, socket count, and stat needs from the in-game item information.
Search the Adventure Journal for the base or relevant item source when available.
Choose an accessible route that can produce that base and set a safe difficulty.
