WHERE & HOW TO FARM Where to farm A Chaos Tower, Rift, or other listed source that can drop the planned base.
Before farming a runeword base, write down its required base type, socket count, and any build-relevant stats. Then choose a route where that base can drop, using the Adventure Journal if the source varies. A low-rarity item can still be the right base when its sockets and properties fit the plan.
Before you go Know the intended runeword and its required base type and socket count. Confirm the route can drop that base through the Journal or current item source information. Configure the loot filter to show the exact base and any acceptable alternatives. Have enough inventory space to retain matching drops for inspection. Write down the runeword’s base type, socket count, and stat needs from the in-game item information. Search the Adventure Journal for the base or relevant item source when available. Choose an accessible route that can produce that base and set a safe difficulty. Configure the filter to display matching bases regardless of rarity, plus any close alternatives. Clear the route and inspect each matching drop for socket layout and stats. Keep candidates that fit the plan; compare alternatives before dismantling or selling extras. Repeat only while the base remains the bottleneck in your runeword progression. Farming tips Keep the exact socket count visible even if the item’s displayed rarity is modest. Avoid changing your filter and route together during a comparison; test one change at a time. Repeat, collect and use Repeatable while the selected source is available. A particular base and socket combination is not guaranteed on a run.
Common mistakes Filtering by rarity alone: include the base and socket criteria explicitly. Farming a route without confirming the base can drop there: check the source first. Selling a candidate before checking sockets: inspect all matching bases before clearing inventory. When to stop or switch Stop when you have a usable base for the planned runeword. Switch to farming the required rune or another build upgrade once the base is secured.
